How does the P.H.A.R.E Well™ system of jet lag prevention avoid jet lag?

The P.H.A.R.E Well™ system of jet lag prevention works at the core of the interaction between you and the flying environment by preparing you in advance, during and after your flight to resist jet lag.  It does this by understanding the environment comprehensively like no other solution out there to date. It takes into consideration the flying environment of the plane, the results of changes in atmospheric pressure while at altitude and the biochemical changes in the person flying. In addition to these factors it also considers the inherent rhythms that govern our well being and incorporates them into the solution. The P.H.A.R.E Well™ system of jet lag prevention is the only solution which looks to increase vitality as a by product of getting rid of jet lag in a holistic manner. The long term results are an increase in wellness and vitality which can't help but spill over to other areas of your life, helping you excel in work, rest, play and on your trips.

Human beings natural habitat is the earth. Any absence  from the earth for extended periods of time is detrimental to our health, as was demonstrated by the astronauts who first went to the moon. This is also true of airline travel. It causes an upset of our entire ecosystem which needs realignment. The problem is that most people start off from a disadvantaged point to begin with.

The solution is to make up this starting deficit as soon as possible and accommodate the  unavoidable consequences of flying in order to keep the balance and ensure health.

To do this you need to manage your biochemistry, manage the health effects the flying environments have on your biochemistry, manage the imbalances caused by a loss of your connection to the earth and increase your tolerance to adverse factors that come about during the whole process.

The starting point is to regain homeostatic balance on as a consistent basis as possible.  Homeostasis is an indicator to your body that things are functioning properly and well. It is an indicator of balance in your health and  is the vital first step.

Second, prepare for and manage the trip. Remember that there are many influences that can affect your biochemistry including food, drugs, posture and thoughts. The downside is they can be acidifying and stress causing. Preparing for your trip is about making sure you don't get stressed  and  upset your balance. The major part of  this second step is to make sure you maintain a balanced state in flight. The use of  what you eat on-board, supplements, posture and thoughts are influential. In addition to that you have to consider, the increased exposure to radiation at altitude, less oxygen in the cabin, noise pollution,  a lack of humidity as well as the presence of positive ions.

Third, manage your health on arrival and right through till you get back home and/or through your next trip. This means getting on to local time if it suits your schedule to do so by re-syncing your body clock. The healthy way to do this involves all measures that don't yank it out of its natural patterns with drugs or melatonin. It also involves learning to block off time for recuperative sleep where necessary (Sleep Blocking).

The P.H.A.R.E Well™ system of jet lag prevention takes pre-emptive and recuperative steps to combat all these negative aspects of flying. The beauty of it is if you fly on a regular basis, or are planning to, you know you have to be healthy in order to stay well. The P.H.A.R.E well system of jet lag prevention helps you kill two birds with one stone. Beat jet lag and stay healthy.

In summary, other solutions only deal with one or two of the aspects of  jet lag, like the body clock, or biochemistry (and they tend to use ineffective or partially effective tools). By contrast the P.H.A.R.E Well™ system deals comprehensively with all the aspects and works to prevent jet lag  through natural, healthy and vitality inducing methods. The best part of the system is that it is flexible and you can incorporate as little or as much of it as you are comfortable with.

Factors to consider.

Acid & Alkalinity.

"The natural ratio in a normal healthy body  is approximately 4 to 1 - four parts alkaline to one part acid, or 80% to 20%" - Paavo Airola, Ph.D, author of How To Get Well.

Desynchronization.

Connecting to the earth restores the natural electrical balance within our bodies—The California Institute for Human Science.

Radiation.

"There is no safe level of exposure and there is no dose of radiation so low that the risk of malignancy is zero....." Dr Karl Z. Morgan, director of the Health Physics Division of Oak Ridge National Laboratory, source Atomic Scientist.

As a result you build a more resilient immune system.
You also benefit from tiring less easily, as acidity contributes to fatigue.
You can use this system to improve your life depending on what you use this extra energy for—you may choose to channel it into increased productivity at work, or just play harder.

Yes 100%. The founding philosophy is holistic, it works with your body not against it. All the measures it incorporates are there to support and increase your health.

I've tried everything to get rid of jet lag why is P.H.A.R.E Well™ system of jet lag prevention different?

It is different because it was created through 12 years of flying experience and observation by a cabin crew member for an international airline, who also has the benefit of a naturopathic philosophy. Other programs have one or two elements that matter but don't have the knowledge or the real life experience on an ongoing basis. For example using melatonin may work for a single trip but if you have to do multiple trips in the space of a month taxing your hormonal and endocrine system in this manner is unhealthy and could be dangerous.

The P.H.A.R.E Well™ system of jet lag prevention puts you in the driving seat of your travel health. Once you learn this system you will never have to depend on anyone else's help for your jet lag remedy, you will be able to choose a more refined solution and you won't have to rely on any drugs.

Give a Man a fish and he eats for a day, Teach a Man to fish and he eats for a lifetime—Chinese Proverb.

I don't sleep well on planes. Will the P.H.A.R.E Well™ system help?

Yes most definitely, It's no surprise that sleep is disturbed at altitude when you consider you are travelling through the air at speed in a tube that is rattling you whole body very vigorously. Moreover you are not in contact with the earth and your body is in the habit of checking its reference to the earth every 90 seconds. Entrainment tools will help you adjust rest and sleep.

When will I see results?

Some aspect of the program will bear fruit and be usable straight away. Others will require time depending on your health and how you use the system. Some of my client have had better results after a single consultation. The average is after 3 trips.

Will my prescription drugs hinder me when using the P.H.A.R.E Well™ system of jet lag prevention?

As I am not a doctor I can't say with certainty that they won't, however as it is a system built on health it shouldn't interfere with any medication. Please do consult with your primary care provider if in any doubt.

What is jet lag?

Jet lag is an upset in biological functioning brought on by transmeridian travel. It is typically synonymous with airline travel and causes upset and distress in physical, emotional and mental aspects of our well being while causing us to feel out of sorts with our environment.

Why should I use the P.H.A.R.E Well™ system of jet lag prevention instead of melatonin?

Although melatonin is the most popular "cure" for jet lag its use is still questioned in scientific circles and is not sanctioned by any medical body including the FDA. Melatonin is part a concert of hormones which are part of the endocrine system. Altering the possible functioning of the endocrine system by using melatonin is not advisable and long term effects are not known. It should only ever be considered in conjunction with your physician. The Berkeley Wellness Letter gives a snapshot of the current thinking on the use of melatonin for jet lag. For details about the contra-indications of using melatonin please click here.

Why should I avoid alcohol when flying?

Besides causing you to relax on board (which is a good thing) alcohol is acidifying to your biochemistry—a very bad thing in an environment which needs no encouragement in making you acidic and more prone to the worst effects of jet lag. It is also has a dehydrating effect on the body.

Why should I avoid drinking tea or coffee when flying?

Despite what any airline well being video may tell you tea and coffee contain a group of substances known to be stimulants, (methylated xanthines). Taking these stimulants can have benefit in your post flight stage; however using them while in flight is not ideal as they are also dehydrating and they further scramble the confusion of the stress the body is experiencing during flight. When on the ground better sources of methylated xanthines are available to help you get the desired results without negative drawbacks. Green tea containing antioxidants and good quality chocolate (which is also high in antioxidants) are better choices by far. They beat tea and coffee on aircraft hands down.

What about other jet lag remedies?

Other remedies on the market have limited value, requiring fasting and feasting, mailing in travel schedules, abusing stimulants, taking drugs and complex calculations. Others claim to be healthy but only work to cover one of the many aspects that make up the symptom picture of jet lag. For more details please follow the links provided:
